Before AI governance, the work was regulated financial services, institutional operations, and large-scale security administration, inside organizations where someone always had to own the call. That is the discipline The Wrong Default applies to AI: not hype, not fear, a straight account of who is deciding and who is left holding the cost when nobody claims it.
A default is just governance without a named author. The Wrong Default is where that argument gets made every week, in public, traced through real cases rather than abstractions. On Judgment, which I write for Still in Charge, makes the same argument for students and the adults around them.
